Assist. Prof. Dr. Anna Lebedeva | Morphology | Head of the Department of Morphology at Bashkir State Medical University | Russia

Assist. Prof. Dr. Anna Ivanovna Lebedeva is a senior research assistant at the Department of Morphology, Federal State Budgetary Institution “The Russian Eye and Plastic Surgery Centre” of the Russian Federation Health Ministry, Ufa, Russia. She holds a Doctor of Biological Sciences degree from Bashkir State University. Her research focuses on regenerative medicine, particularly tissue engineering, with an emphasis on developing novel allogeneic biomaterials for organ and tissue regeneration. Dr. Lebedeva has published over 150 scientific articles, including international and peer-reviewed SCOPUS and HAC publications. She has developed methods to reduce and level fibrosis in ischemic damaged myocardium, regenerate skeletal muscles, smooth muscle tissue, reproductive organs, and ophthalmological structures after defects and inflammatory-destructive processes. Additionally, she has optimized methods for restoring various tissues of eye structures, including the cornea, sclera, and retina, and is developing techniques for the induction, stimulation, and differentiation of stem cells. Dr. Lebedeva’s work has been funded by the Ministry of Health of Russia under State R&D assignment No. 056-00124-21-00. She has been recognized with the Certificate of Honor from the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus. Her future research aims to advance the application of tissue-engineered constructs in regenerative medicine, with a focus on short bowel syndrome and other complex tissue defects.
